Potential volunteers flock to Licking Park District meeting
GRANVILLE — More than 40 people attended Wednesday’s meeting of the Licking Park District board, and many of them offered their time and support to the district miniature golf content.The board met at James E. Bradley Center , an enclosed shelter at Infirmary Mound Park . The board has met at the park district’s office in the past, but the Bradley Center has more room for the public, said Steve Holloway, board chairman.Almost every chair at the center was filled with representatives of groups that have used the parks or volunteered for the district in the past.All the park district’s facilities have been closed since January because of financial difficulties. The park board’s goal is to reopen the parks by May 1. The district is reaching out to those who have supported the parks in the past for help to get them open as soon as possible, Holloway said.“We wanted to bring them all together to start coordinating our volunteer efforts,” he said.Holloway began the meeting by offering each group a chance to speak.“We want to hear from everyone out there,” he said. “We have a lot of work to do, and we need everyone’s help.”Representatives from the Central Ohio Mounted Search Unit, the Miami Valley/Rocky Fork Headley Hunt and the Mystic Manes 4H Club proposed different ways to help the park district Find Best Golf Swing Tips to Improve Golf.Many groups offered to organize members to maintain trails, mow and clean up the facilities in exchange for the ability to use them for their events.
